Effective Methods to Eliminate Silverfish from Your Home

 

Silverfish, or Lepisma saccharina, are small, silvery insects known for their quick movements. Though harmless, they thrive in damp, dark environments like bathrooms and bookcases, and can be quite persistent. Here’s how to get rid of them effectively:

1.Use Lavender Oil: Silverfish are repelled by the scent of lavender. Apply a few drops of lavender oil to cotton balls and place them in the corners of rooms, especially where you’ve spotted silverfish. You can also place lavender sachets in strategic locations throughout your home. The strong aroma will deter them from frequenting these areas.

2.Create a Silverfish Trap: To make an effective trap, pour oat flakes into a jar and wrap the outside of the jar with tape, leaving the top open. The starch in the oats will attract silverfish, and they will climb into the jar but find it difficult to escape due to the smooth glass surface.

3.Use Rubbing Alcohol:
